📊 YouTube and Facebook Lead US Social Media Usage while TikTok Rises Among Younger Users

Pew Research surveyed 5,000 Americans to track social media trends based on which apps people use or open daily. Here’s a quick summary:

  • YouTube (84%) and Facebook (71%) are the most widely used social media platforms among US adults, based on the percentage who report ever using them📱

  • Facebook and YouTube also lead in daily usage, with 52% of respondents visiting Facebook daily and 48% visiting YouTube daily🗓️

  • Platforms that have seen the most growth in overall usage over the past few years include Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, and Reddit📈

  • There are large age gaps in use, with adults ages 18 to 29 being significantly more likely to use platforms like Instagram (80%) and TikTok (63%)✅
